Maggie Ritnour is an art therapist and licensed mental health counselor in Brooklyn, NY, USA. She’s worked in a variety of mental health settings since 2000. Currently in private practice, she specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, and works with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression. She gets excited thinking about how art making can be used to visualize patterns in people’s lives, including how one relates to other people, food, and their own body.

She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. And Master of Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 2009. She’s an enthusiastic ambassador of RO DBT and graduate of the RO Scholars Program.

Maggie loves riding her bike, eating tacos, and dancing to her own made-up songs about the mundane moments of life. She believes firmly in the magic of art and power of connection.
