RO-DBT individual therapy and classes Catherine specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, and relationship conflicts and has provided therapy in a variety of settings (hospital, residential, corrections, outpatient) over the past decade. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Cat moved to Portland in 2013 to pursue her Masters in Arts at Pacific University. Since that time, Cat has received extensive training in attachment-based approaches (e.g., how your experiences with loved ones shape the way you navigate life), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT; a 12-week PTSD treatment targeting thinking patterns to alleviate PTSD symptoms); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). She is particularly skilled in navigating systems and supporting clients’ health from a holistic lens. Cat works hard to embrace openness, fun, and connection with others in her own life and with her clients. She is especially energized by finding creative solutions to wellness for clients who have historically struggled to find relief from mental health symptoms with traditional treatment modalities. Her openness, authenticity, and passion for creative problem-solving is what drew her to Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) and working with over-controlled clients. Cat’s approach to care recognizes each person possesses innate wisdom and works hard to partner with and empower clients to tap into their own expertise and strengths to navigate life with courage, connection, and fulfillment. In her downtime, Cat enjoys trekking around Portland with her husband and her dog, Bird; building (and eating) charcuterie boards; going on adventures in the great PNW and beyond; and partaking in various arts and crafts.
