Dr. Nathan Tomcik is a board-certified clinical psychologist (American Board of Professional Psychology, Couple and Family Psychology) and co-founder of Radically Open Connections, a behavioral health clinic in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in the treatment of overcontrolled personality styles, treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, trauma, and relationship distress using Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) and other evidence-based approaches.
Prior to developing Radically Open Connections, LLC, Dr. Tomcik served as Chief Psychologist and Deputy Chief of Behavioral Health for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Columbus, Ohio, where he led large interdisciplinary teams providing evidence-based care for military veterans with complex trauma and chronic emotion-regulation difficulties.
Dr. Tomcik has over two decades of experience as a clinician, supervisor, and program leader. His interests include social signaling and emotional expression, RO-DBT implementation, and the integration of RO-DBT principles within couple and family therapy. He provides consultation and advanced training to clinicians seeking to apply RO-DBT across individual and relational contexts, with an emphasis on compassionate, research-informed practice.
