I’m a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of experience working in both the NHS and private practice. I specialise in supporting people who struggle with excessive self-control—often manifesting as chronic anxiety, perfectionism, emotional loneliness, or long-standing difficulties like treatment-resistant depression, anorexia nervosa, or obsessive-compulsive personality traits. My primary therapeutic approach is Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT). I’m intensively trained in RO-DBT and have been closely involved in its delivery, supervision, and implementation across a range of clinical services in the UK. I’m passionate about this approach because it focuses on helping people open up, connect more deeply with others, and build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. I work with adults (17+) and offer individual RO-DBT therapy and clinical consultation for professionals or teams looking to integrate RO-DBT into their work. My style is collaborative, warm, and compassionate—always grounded in evidence-based practice. I will be starting an online skills class shortly so if you are interested please let me know. In addition to my clinical work, I regularly train and supervise other clinicians in RO-DBT, both nationally and internationally. Staying engaged with the growing RO-DBT community and current research is important to me, and I continue to learn and evolve in my practice. Our center is a collaboration between the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Pediatrics’ Division of Adolescent Medicine. Located at the John S.
